I believe everything happens for a reason and every incident is a cause of another effect, like what I learned in Haiku class about the theory of interpenetrability. Rembember that upsetting magazine incident? Now I can use it for my english essay on reflection upon a certain experience which have changed the way you think about yourself. Isn't this just great? Writing about her irresponsiblities now is making me furious again. haha.

I just put up this song which I don't think anyone of you have heard before. The singer is not a professional artiste as well. I guess the singing is somewhat amateur, the melody is simple, the lyrics isn't too impressive either. But the simplicity of it all is so moving that it just makes you wanna swirl in that delusional world of innocence in this deeply disturbing cacophony of crime, chaos, pain and tears.
Absence is essential to comprehending the validity of an existence. Do we recognise the meaning of true happiness without experiencing pain? Do we know what laughter is without crying? Do we even know that air exists without the feeling of breathlessness? We tend to overlook such trivial emotional details around us because they are simply there for us to exploit. We find trivial faults with life's happenings in the yearn to search for a happiness which has been present all along without us recognising its presence. We forget how every laughter, smile or display of love contributes to our lives in such a simple yet impactful way. It is only when they are absent and the pain of solitude makes you realise you have taken those simple emotions for granted.

Greyish dustballs hanging in the melancholic space
Claws tearing away at the soul.
Breathless
Listless
The wind snarls as the little leaves end their lives
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is time? What makes time? Do we control time or time controls us?
Timing devices do not define time; they are mere abstract representations of what time is. Time is relative. The length of an hour, a minute, a second varies for different individuals. There is no past, no future. Now is the moment. Now is eternity.
(just a little something I learnt in haiku class. pretty interesting concepts of zen. More to come. I'm impressed! Aren't you? )

Over the rooftops a plane in the sky
beat of a bass drum cars passing me by
under a bridge dark then back into light
a river of raincoats and a forest of faces
still for a moment then red into green
slow shuffling shoes whisper sight unseen
row upon row of houses return an empty stare
let the daydream for a little while longer
hope I'd never wake
when I'm thinking about you
hope I'd never wake
cos now I'm thinking about you
two-minute hailstorm then melts into rain
(oh) sing me a rainbow it's sunny again
swallows overhead while the traffic snarls below
could I (could I) keep dreaming for a little while longer
when you're searching your soul
when you're searching for pleasure
how often, pain is all you find
but when you're coasting along and nobody's trying too hard
you can turn around and like where you are

Hey do you guys know who is RAIN LEE( refer to photo on the right of the blog)?? she's the girl who acted in the feel 100% tv drama, remember? Anyway, was just webcaming with my parents and found out my dad rented the car space of our hk apartment TO HER!!! haha...there's actually her signature on the contract! hahahaaaaa.. let's hope she becomes a big time star in the future! hahaaa and she won't dare to not pay rent. Its damn sickening, out past car space tenants are despicable ppl who signed a one yr lease with us and then stopped paying rent after 3 months cos they found a new cheaper car space. But it won't happen this time! haha anyway I'm playing her song now, it's really nice to hear it at night. Her singing's not exactly superb but it sure beats HK groups like twins whose singing is always out of tune. Looks only, pathetic

Feeling kinda depressed today about the state of my social life. Stupid thoughts bugging me. Anyway went to see my econs gsi just now, totally cleared up my problems. Understanding econs kinda makes me feel happier. Wierd but true. I am starting to count down to my yr end trip. Life just kinda sucks here.

Just came back from the suckiest lunch ever. Food consumed was not fit for humans, only humanoids. It reminded me of ration food stuff during the war. My point is, only individuals suffering form starvation will call it food. My stomach feels void after lunch. The cheese filling in the vegetable roll-wrap looks so disgusting I have to take pasta in plain sour-till-your-eyes-pop-out tomato sauce. I feel sick now. It sure doesn't help when I looked at the menu for tonight and its taco night. I hate taco. If I didn't have to do an essay tonight, I'll go out to main st alone to eat in my favourite restaurants there. What a day. Am i complaining? YES I AM. You would be too if you were me. Living in this place where food quantiy triumps over food quality.

hey i found this film - 戀之風景by chance and from the website I'm expecting it to be as good as Tempting Hearts somehow. Go visit the web site http://www.floatinglandscape.com/cover.html Part of the paintings inside is done by Jimmy, dat taiwanese cartoonist for Turn Left Turn Right.
The expression on this kid's face is TIMELESS man. hahaaaaaa ok u can call me evil once again but i find is quite amusing indeed.
Hey I'm gonna put up a new song every few days so remember to visit my blog often! haha. Off to study for maths quiz!

Guess what?? My long awaited issues of TIME ASIA magazines have FINALLY ARRIVED! haha can u even imagine me getting excited... err.. over TIME? haha. What has the US done to me man. Besides the fact that I get to read about Takeshi Kaneshiro and admire his gorgeous picture, I actually am looking forward to reading all those news articles. The science, entertainment, art, culture, bombings, NEWS BASICALLY. This place just zaps you out of reality and you get freaked out by the fact that you are totally IGNORANT about what is happening around the world. Nothing. Zilch. All they have is Michigan news(robbery or some trivial stuff which is of little value and concern to me) and US news which I am sick and tired of because its all about BUSH BUSH BUSH(whom I don't particularly hold in high regard at all), or IRAQ or WHITE HOUSE POLITICS. like WHATEVER. I DON'T care about them. OH PLS. Just give me some form of substantial news for goodness sake. Now I seem to understand why I got an admission package last time with Singapore, China on the envelope. Singapore seems to be a province in China. I actually miss reading the straits times, or just skimming through the headlines, or talking about some sort of news in school. Losing touch with the world is a sad feeling. I shall make an effort to read some straits times online, or maybe some bits of New York Times.

Ok yeah i do feel abit mean about that whole magazine incident. It doesn't mean that I feel she wasn't wrong. But yeah i guess novalia is right about learning to care and understand ppl instead of just plain scolding them n saying mean things. Haha. see I'm such an ANGEL.... anyone agrees? Ok yeah i can feel the silence and dead air. FINE. haaha.
hey this is real funny... haha its about parents and their children. I chanced upon it when i was searching for sth totally unrelated but got the site anyway. ( this proves how useful search machines actually are)
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT!
1. You spend the first two years of their life teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next sixteen telling them to sit down and shut up.
2. Grandchildren are God's reward for not killing your own children.
3. Mothers of teens now know why some animals eat their young.
4. Children seldom misquote you
5. The main purpose of holding children's parties is to remind yourself that there are children more awful than your own.
6. We child proofed our homes, but they're still getting in.
ADVICE FOR THE DAY: Be nice to your kids. They will choose your nursing home.
AND FINALLY: IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF TENSION AND YOU GET A HEADACHE, DO WHAT IT SAYS ON THE ASPIRIN BOTTLE:
"TAKE TWO ASPIRIN" AND "KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN"
haha dunno whether u guys have read this before cos its supposedly from an email. but anyway enjoy!
10 yrs down the road, ull prob rem this article out of the blue when ur little monstrous maniacs are giving u a hell of a time. *evil laugh*

Well, I've sorta cooled down. I am resigned to the fact that some people choose to live in their utopian glass world where flaws are non existent. It's none of my business if they wanna screw their lives n sink into utter depression over nothing. Why should I get so worked up and kill my brain cells? HA. If they cant take criticisms, I shall just give no comments. If they are not even interested in changing for the better, why should I be bothered about changing their lives? Totally doesn't concern me at all. I wont be the least affected by their bovine nature. They gotta learn it the hard way someday and I shall just leave their future bosses to educate their minds.

GOSH I'M SO PISSED!!!!!
That disgusting freakening piece of scum just threw back her hands and left me to do that mag article all by myself! How irresponsible and bane is that? Just cos she's irresponsible and refuse to finish the work she claims i'm too occupied and solely occupied about work! i really dunno what she is doing in the university when she blames me for critising her far from perfect writing. I hope she just rots away for infinity.
Tried to call you all, but none of u were in! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS??? I NEED PPL TO LET OUT STEAM!

hey! if u still think he looks like an ah pek after this photo, i have to say ur taste is hopelessly defunct!
Sometimes it feels like fear is striking us from every corner in our life, but that is only because we allow it to. We overestimate apprehension and anxiety stemming from the unknown so much so that they become central dominating components which dictate what we do and how we think. We fret about other's perception of our identities, worrying over inconsequential and trivial things. It is undoubtedly innate in us to care about what others see us as. But being overly concerned with how others think curbs out any possibilities of self expression. Letting unnecessary fear gain unnecessary control over one's life really just makes it more complicated than it seems. It's not that feeling fear makes one a coward, it's just that fearing unnecessarily restricts one's life to an ever shrinking corner.

The blues are because maybe it's been raining so long and you're just feeling sad.
Suddenly, you feel afraid and you don't know what you're afraid of.
Do you ever get that feeling?

Happenings around me makes me wonder if racism sometimes stems from the fact that minorities make it a point to distinguish themselves and drill that preconceived mindset that they are indeed different. The cause for worry is indeed the fact that some find the slightest differences and amplify them to make it seem like they are perpetual victims of discrimination. I don't deny that racism exists, neither do I think tolerance is acceptance and self dillusion means non existence of that issue. However, i just wished people would try to overlook those slight differences sometimes and attempt to find small similarities to narrow the drift. If you feel inferior about yourself, how can you expect others to respect you in the first place?
*Try to Remember*
Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a tender and callow fellow,
Try to remember and if you remember the follow.
Try to remember when life was so tender
That no one wept except the willow.
Try to remember when life was so tender that
Dreams were kept beside your pillow.
Try to remember when life was so tender that
Love was an ember about to billow.
Try to remember and if you remember then follow.
Deep in December it's nice to remember
Altho you know the snow will follow.
Deep in December it's nice to remember
Without the hurt the heart is hollow.
Deep in December it's nice to remember
The fire of September that made us mellow.
Deep in December our hearts should remember and follow.

Many assume that simplicity and naivete are equivalents of each other. they are not and they never will be. Simplicity is finding simple joys from the complexities of life; naivete is just refusing to come out of your self delusional glasshouse. Or it stems from the fact that they do not even realise the world exists outside their glasshouses, and not within. The difference is comparable to child like and childish. Childish individuals never grow up, or rather, they don't know how to. I sometimes thought I was naive, in some ways or another, though I never realised the importance of being able to think independently and step out of the glass house when my parents told me to. But now I do. It scares me to see the effects of naivete, it scares me to see what happens when you don't even realise you're naive. Some people never do. When I look at them , I seem to be seeing from the perspectives of what my parents used to see. I actually begin to understand the reason for their frustration. It must have killed a lot of their brain cells trying to make me realise it. I guess you really have to experience it yourself to learn what you're supposed to. Now I'm just training myself bit by bit to have more self control and to think about the costs of doing things. I'm not saying I'm super independent now, but at least I'm trying.

gosh i cant believe myself. i didn't use to be a big starbucks fan nor did i love hot coffee. well, cold weather changes EVERYTHING. the feeling of sth hot in ur hands while ure walking in the freaking chilly weather ( abt 7 degree celcius) makes it A BIT more tolerable. otherwise, your hands are so numb it feels like it has been paralysed and totally sensationless. it is scary, trust me. they feel like ICE. my fav now is white chocolate mocha. its heavenly! really! haha try it in singapore! (ok try the ICED one in singapore or ull burn to death, haha) i walked like 20 min just to get to the nearest starbucks across campusl. ( i found out later that there's actually one 5 min away, ok laugh at my ignorance) haha dats like how mad of me! totally irrational. hate myself for that but i couldn't resist. haha. cold weather sucks.
